El Salvador 2017

VOSH Minnesota and FUDEM February 20‐24, 2017

This VOSH Minnesota trip will be lead by Dr. Julie L Walsh and hosted by FUDEM in El Salvador. We need to bring a supply of reading glasses, FUDEM will supply the prescription glasses. FUDEM charges $600 per participant  which covers all meals, lodging, and transportation during the work week. They usually also include an afternoon at the beach. Dr. Walsh will look into other R&R options. Our total trip fee will include the cost of readers, use of an autorefractor, FUDEM fee, T‐shirts, and miscellaneous expenses.  Each participant must pay their own Airfare ($750‐$1000) and R&R.  The final destination is determined by FUDEM based on the accommodations needed once the group size is known.

About FUDEM: FUDEM is a private, non‐profit organization founded in 1989 with the goal of contributing to the integral growth of women in El Salvador. After working for 3 years, these women realized that the greatest need for the women of El Salvador, and their families was visual health. Therefore in 1992, FUDEM began to focus on eye care. For more information, please go to their website: FUDEM.org.

About Dr. Walsh: Dr. Walsh has been on 11 VOSH trips, mainly in Spanish‐speaking countries.  If you have any questions, please contact her at jlwalsh@midco.net.
